Volunteer

Fairmount greatly values community members who dedicate their time to our mission!

Here are several ways you can get involved:

Parent Ambassadors:
This group consists of parents/guardians of current Fairmount students who meet with Fairmount administrative staff members to give feedback on current programming, ideas for future programming, and an overall assessment of Fairmount’s public view. This group is called upon to positively promote Fairmount in the community and provide helping hands at end of session performances with tasks such as program distribution, bouquet sales, snack tables, etc.
Time Allocation: Meets once every two months from September - April.

Corporate Advisors:
Fairmount respects local business leaders and entrepreneurs in the area who are willing to share their insightful knowledge with Fairmount administrative staff members. This group will be presented with business-related questions and will have an opportunity to share feedback and advice to help continue Fairmount’s growth trajectory. Members of this group are encouraged to positively promote Fairmount in the community and provide community connections for the benefit of Fairmount.
Time Allocation: TBD

55th Anniversary Event Committee:
In celebration of Fairmount’s 55th anniversary season, Fairmount will be hosting a 55th Anniversary Celebration Event to bring the community together in celebration and to raise funds for Fairmount’s bright future. Members of the community interested in aspects of event planning are encouraged to join.
Time Allocation: Meets once per month until the event on February 21, 2026. Assists in set-up and/or tear down the week of the event.

Fairmount Art Exhibition:
The Fairmount Art Exhibition attracts artists from all over the Northeast Ohio area and is a much anticipated visual arts exhibition presented each August for free to the community. Fairmount seeks individuals passionate about visual arts to lend a hand during artist Entry Days (last Saturday and Monday of July) and during Jury Day (last Tuesday of July). Other opportunities to help include set up and tear down of exhibition related events such as the popular Friday happy hours and the Closing Reception.

Time Allocation: Opportunities are available during the last week of July and throughout the month of August.

Spring/Summer Gardening:
During the warmer weather months, Fairmount takes advantage of its outdoor spaces for camps, events, and community gatherings. Fairmount asks for the help of individuals passionate about gardening to help maintain the grounds with tasks like planting, weeding, trimming, and watering.

Time Allocation: Opportunities available beginning in the spring through the summer months.
