For teens, art is way more than painting or drawing;, it’s a stress-busting, mood-boosting, self-discovery superpower! It helps teenagers process emotions, explore their identity, and flex their creative muscles. Bonus: it also sharpens their brain, builds confidence, and even helps with school skills.

Hip Hop: Join us for a fun-filled street dance class where students can learn to move like never before! We’ll explore cool pedestrian movements, funky isolations, and easy, creative footwork – all while having a blast and expressing ourselves through dance!
Spanish Dance Immersion: Experience the culture and music of Spain through various styles of Spanish Dance. Led by Fairmount’s Spanish Dance Company, students will participate in and connect with the Spanish language in new ways while moving and having fun with friends.

Origami: Explore the traditional art of paper folding in this exciting class all about origami! The class will introduce students to the foundational folds in origami that can be transformed into a variety of different shapes and forms. Projects may include paper cranes, flowers, stars, and basic boxes. Resources to expand knowledge and practice can be provided upon request. If desired, a class can elect to work on a team-based origami installation featuring paper cranes, flowers, or stars. Students will walk away with one to three origami pieces at the end of each class, depending on time and level of difficulty of the forms.
Tempera Painting: Jump into a hands-on visual art adventure! Pick a theme for your group and let their creativity flow with paint and color. They will try free painting, experiment with stencils, and play with techniques that spark their imagination. By the end of class, they’ll take home their very own masterpiece!
Paper Collage: Unleash your creativity in this magical collage class! Pick a theme and mix and match colorful paper patterns and shapes to build a playful scene. Depending on class time, your group can also enjoy a storybook reading that brings their theme to life. Paper pieces may be ready to go or cut by you, which are perfectly suited to the class’s pace and skill level. By the end, they will have a one-of-a-kind collage to take home!

Songwriting: In this class, students are guided through the songwriting process from idea generation, rhyme schemes, song structure, and lyricism. After analyzing the lyrics of their favorite songs and completing writing exercises, students will leave the class with their own song lyrics and steps to create their own instrumental tracks. Focusing on analysis and impactful writing, the skills built in this program can be applied to any field. No previous music experience necessary.

Theater Techniques for Public Speaking: Build your confidence in this interactive theater workshop centered on public speaking. Using theater techniques and games, learn how to use speed, volume, eye contact, and gestures to deliver an effective message. Students will leave with the skills to tackle their presentations, debates, and speeches, readying them for careers in any field.

We also offer adapted arts programs that are modified from our regular classes to support individuals with specialized needs. Plus, our creative arts therapies focus on art with a therapeutic twist and are available.
Programs are available at an hourly instructional rate starting at $100, with all art supplies included.
