Taking A Look Back On Our 55th Year
It’s September, which means a new season for us here at Fairmount. With this new season, we can’t help but reflect on our last year with a big milestone — 55 years of fostering creativity in our community. Last year was bigger than expected, with a celebration to hosting hundreds of events and programs.
Collaborating To Bring the Arts Into Our Community
Our outreach program helps bring the arts into the classroom by working with local school districts to facilitating programs for seniors at surrounding senior centers. We of course can’t do this without our wonderful partners who trust us to deliver quality programs to their audiences. This past season, 12 community partners helped make this happen.
Bringing the Arts To More People
This past season, we reached thousands of people through our events, programs, and outreach in our community. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our community members and partners who trust us to deliver creative experiences to them and their little ones. Through everyone’s generous support, we reached over 8,500 community members.
A Whole Lot Of Programs
We couldn’t have reached this milestone without the community’s interest in our arts programming. With continued interest, we’ve been able to offer a robust range of programs in dance, music, theatre, visual arts, and creative arts therapies. Last season alone, we facilitated 238 programs with 1571 students at our two locations.
..And Not To Mention Events
Outside our regular programming, people trusted us to deliver interactive experiences through our Open Studies events to delivering informative talks with local creatives through our Pull Back the Curtain Speaker Series lectures, and not to forget a celebration for our big anniversary in February where we honored our 55 year legacy. This past season, we delivered 62 events.
Providing Opportunities To Those Who Need It the Most
Because of generous donors, we’ve been able to provide experiences to those who need them the most. We believe that everyone should have access to the arts no matter their financial situation – our scholarship program helps make this happen. Last year, we were able to award 19 scholarships to those families who might not otherwise participate in the arts. In addition, we also received funds to support first responders and caregiver professionals.
We Couldn’t Do It Alone
We couldn’t have done this without the support of our amazing staff. This season, we had 14 administrative staff who made sure daily operations ran smoothly. Then, of course, there are the people who help bring our programs to life — the over 60 teaching artists.
We’re grateful to everyone who made our 55th season possible. With this success, we look forward to this next season with excitement. We can’t wait to continue to work with you as you pursue your passions and creative endeavors.
