What began as a simple connection to Fairmount because of its proximity to home has grown into a meaningful relationship with the arts and the community. As an artist, Diana found a place to participate, connect, and support the opportunities Fairmount provides.
Diana didn’t get first involved because she was actively looking for an arts center, but because Fairmount was almost in her backyard. “When I moved to this community some years ago, Fairmount was practically in my backyard — it’s right down the street,” said Diana. “As an artist and someone who has always valued the arts, I was naturally drawn to it. What began as a neighborhood connection gradually became something much more meaningful.” Diana stayed involved due to the sense of belonging she experienced. “I participate in Fairmount’s exhibitions and enjoy being part of its artistic community,” she said.” As an artist, I find it inspiring to see what other people are creating and especially rewarding to see people of all ages discovering their own creativity. Fairmount has become more than a place where I exhibit my work. It is a community I feel fortunate to be a part of.”
Diana is not only an artist and active participant at Fairmount, but she is a generous monthly donor. “I give because I believe deeply in the good that the arts do. Art encourages imagination and confidence in young people, but its importance doesn’t end in childhood,” she said. “The arts continue to challenge us, comfort us, connect us, and give way to express what sometimes can not be put into words. Supporting Fairmount is one way I can help make sure those opportunities continue to be available to others.”
Diana’s continued support reflects the lasting impact that the arts can have on everyone who has the opportunity to experience them. Through her generosity, she helps Fairmount continue creating spaces where creativity can flourish and people can find their own meaningful connection to the arts.
