50th Annual Fairmount Art Exhibition Award Winners Announced
Exhibition on view at Fairmount’s Novelty Campus from August 4 through August 20
After receiving hundreds of entries, Fairmount Center for the Arts has selected 186 artworks by Northeast Ohio artists to be showcased in the 50th Annual Fairmount Art Exhibition. A three-person jury panel of local artists and arts professionals – Eddie Mitchell, Stephen Tornero and Adam McVicker – reviewed each of the 403 submitted works and awarded prizes to the top works in painting, photography, graphics, 3D, fiber and watercolor. The Best of Show winner was “Happy Dresses: Twist and Dip” by Jerry Smith.

The Fairmount Art Exhibition is free and open to the public, viewable from Tuesday, August 4 through Thursday, August 20. Viewing hours can be found at fairmountcenter.org/fae or by calling (440) 338-3171. The free community Closing Reception will be held on Friday, August 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Fairmount Center for the Arts’ Novelty campus.
“We’re grateful to all the artists who submitted their work for this milestone year,” said Elizabeth Bolander, Executive Director. “This exhibition is a rare opportunity to experience the incredible talent of artists living right here in Northeast Ohio. We invite everyone to come and enjoy these beautiful works—brought together for just a few weeks, for the entire community to celebrate our local artists.”
