Fairmount has special workshops for all ages and interests! Join us for a day or two, or even up to five weeks of special classes dedicated towards specific areas of study or specific projects.

Directing Workshop (Onsite) – with Alex Stroming
Ages 10-18 years: Monday, June 28th, 5:30-7:30pm
In this workshop, you will learn basic skills & tools of directing, and then apply those skills through hands on experience of directing something yourself! Come discover what it feels like to be on the other side of the rehearsal room.
Stenciled Ceramic Tiles (Onsite)- with Brigitte Fiorille
Ages 15-Adult: Monday, June 28th, 6:00-8:30pm
Use stenciling techniques to design a series of ceramic tiles. Individual tiles can become works of art as individuals, mosaics, or as hangings. Collective size of pieces in approx. 12”x12” space. Tiles will be made using stoneware clay with colored slips and clear glaze.
Macrame Bracelets (Onsite)- with Sandi Fink
Ages 12- Adult: Tuesdays, June 29th & July 6th, 6:30-8:00pm
Learn the basics of Macrame knots and create several bracelet designs. A gift to yourself and some to share! Beginner to intermediate levels welcome. All supplies included.
Creating a Character (Onsite) – with Alex Stroming
Ages 8-18 years: Wednesday, June 30th, 6:30-8:30pm
Explore how you can use your voice, your body, and your imagination to
create a brand new character. Interact with other characters, find your
character’s story, and take a trip to a world you create. Skills learned can be
applied to acting, dance, singing, writing, art, or just playing at home!
Wheel Throwing (ONLY 1 SPACE LEFT!) (Onsite) – with Brigitte Fiorille
Ages 10-14 years: Tuesdays, July 6th, 13th, & 20th, 4:30-6:30pm
Learn the basics of wheel throwing with kick and electric wheels. Time is allotted for throwing (first two weeks) along with trimming and underglazing. Limited registrations available! Pieces will be available for pick up following classes.
Botanical Drawings (Onsite) – with Mary Lyons
Ages 8-12 years: Wednesdays, July 7th, 14th, & 21st, 4:30-6:00pm
Learn techniques in realism and pencil use with this series of botanical drawing. Build skills and create a wonderful collection.
Portraits in Charcoal (Onsite) – with Mary Lyons
Ages 12-Adult: Wednesdays, July 7th, 14th, & 21st, 6:30-8:00pm
Approach drawing portraits by learning to build structure using dark and light through technique exercises, base sketches, and completed drawings.
Hip Hop Workshop: Ages 7-10! (Onsite) – with Ryan Rosinski
Ages 7-10, intermediate level of experience: Thursday, July 8th, 4:30-6:30pm
These workshops are geared towards hip hop dancers with prior experience who are looking to be challenged and expand on their skills. Different groups will be offered throughout the summer every Thursday! NEXT WEEK: a workshop for teens!
Intro to Crochet (Onsite) – with Tara Seibel
Ages 12-Adult: Mondays, July 12th, 19th, & 26th, 6:00-8:00pm
Learn the basics of Crochet with several stitches. Create various small items and direction towards completing a scarf. Beginner to intermediate levels welcome.
Macrame Owl (Onsite) – with Sandi Fink
Ages 12-Adult: Tuesdays, July 13th, 20th, & 27th, 6:30-8:00pm
Learn the basics of Macrame knots and create an owl wall hanging. Beginner to intermediate levels welcome. All supplies included.
