The Professional Training Workshop is designed for
children and teens entering grades 6 through 12 as well as college
students and adults. An exciting new option this year – students
can choose between The Core
and Advanced Training.
The
Core
Students enrolled in this program should have a desire to study
theater in a challenging and disciplined environment.
The goal of The Core program is to give students
a “toolbox” of skills that will help increase acting and auditioning
skills. The training is focused on creating truthful, three dimensional
characters as well as providing students the skills to effectively
use themselves – mind, body, spirit, imagination and voice.
Students participating in The Core program take
a “core” curriculum of Acting, Scene Study, Audition Technique,
Dance, Voice, Projection & Diction and Movement. These core
classes are supplemented by other Flex-Time options (electives
offered for one or several days) such as Improvisation, The 16
Bar Musical Audition, Stage Makeup, Martial Arts and Stage Combat.
There may also be non-theatre related recreational activities
such as Swimming, Charades and Field Sports available.

day.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Students who are participating in their first or second sessions
of the Professional Training Workshop take The Core. The students
are divided into groups by age, talent and experience. The Core
program runs Monday through Friday, 10 am to 4:30 pm.
Students who have already participated in the FPAC
Summer Program for two sessions may opt to continue in The Core
or may choose to audition and interview for one of the Advanced
Training programs. (see description below)
REGISTRATION/AUDITION
INFORMATION
Returning FPAC alumni do not need to audition for The Core but
must register by completing this
form and returning it to Fairmount Center.
New students to the FPAC Summer Program are required
to audition and interview. Click
here to arrange for your audition. If available, please bring
a resume and picture to the audition, and download
this form, fill it out and bring it with you! Please prepare
either two short contrasting monologues OR one monologue and one
song. Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided.
ADVANCED
TRAINING
New this year is the unique experience
and opportunity to audition and interview for the Advanced Training
options. Students who have attended the FPAC Summer Program for
at least two sessions and want to receive specialized training
are eligible to apply for these highly selective programs. Adult
can register without having attended FPAC in the past.
The students enrolled in this program should have
a desire to study theater in a challenging and disciplined environment.
The Acting Technique / Scene Study class – offered in the morning
of all sessions – is focused on creating truthful, three dimensional
characters. The afternoon program allows the student to select
one class from several options. Most Advanced Training options
are offered for one session only, so please refer to the schedule
below.
The Advanced Training program is available as either
a full day program or an “a la carte” program where a student
may select either the morning Acting Technique / Scene Study class
or an Advanced Training option class in the afternoon.
