SCHOOL OF MUSIC
Music instruction and performance benefits people of all ages. In addition to learning to read and play music, it also promotes self-expression and creativity and the benefits can be grouped into four categories:
- Success in society
- Success in school
- Success in developing intelligence
- Success in life
Music education helps our children and adults in real and substantial ways. But the sad reality is that music and performing music groups funding is being cut back more and more everyday. The Fairmount Center offers private instruction taught by some of the highest level professionals in their field in a variety of instruments available Monday – Saturday, day and evening depending on the individual instructor. Suzuki Instruction for violin, viola, cello and piano is available for children that are ready as early as 3½ years old. Recitals are scheduled throughout the year and are free and open to the public.
