MISSION, CORE VALUES AND STRATEGIC PLANS
Mission:
Fairmount Center for the Arts is dedicated to the advancement of the arts in Ohio through excellence in training and performance for people of all ages and levels of mastery, from early youth to seasoned professional. Our programming seeks to challenge, enrich and nurture, providing self-confidence and understanding that encourages each student to thrive as a creative individual.
Core Values:
The center’s values include a commitment to education in the arts in order to create:
- An environment of discovery and growth where the theatre, the studio, and the gallery as experienced as privileged places where all activity embraces and celebrates the human spirit.
- A learning environment where no student ever leaves a workshop feeling diminished or humiliated, but rather uplifted and inspired.
- A culture of service and excellence made up of faculty and staff who have a personal commitment to putting their talent at the service of their students.
Strategic Long-Term Goals
- Expand the reach of our training, performance, and workshops to a more diverse student pool, audience and geographical area.
- Bring all of the present schools (Art, Dance, Theatre, Music and Writing) into a mission-central curriculum: evolutionary – one class leading to the next; with a focus on the creative individual; from early childhood to seasoned professional.
- Consolidate our training workshops into one central campus in eastern Cuyahoga County, preferably in the Chagrin Falls region.
- Acquire at least one, preferably two performing spaces.
- Develop working partnerships with Mayfield Village, Chagrin Falls and Chagrin Falls Schools to provide either of the above, including and expanded workshops facilities, galleries, and performing spaces.
- Develop a performance initiative that includes a year-round professional theatre, a summer theatre festival, youth and teen theatre, dance and music recitals, art galleries and writers conferences on a year-round basis.
- To develop outreach and special education programs that serve disadvantaged, handicapped and other groups who do not have ready access to arts education or participation.
