PERFORMANCE & ACTOR TRAINING WORKSHOP
(entering 7th – 9th grade, by audition)

This program is essentially the same as the Professional Training Workshop, except that instead of taking classes in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to be in a production. In the mornings you will be in the same Acting and Scene Study classes as the students signed up for the Professional Training Workshop.

Play titles will be announced in the near future.

SESSION 1
Three Weeks:  Mondays - Fridays, June 23 - July 11, 2008 **
10:00am – 4:30pm
**no camp on July 4
Fee:  $720*

SESSION 2

Three Weeks:  Mondays - Fridays, July 14 - August 1, 2008
10:00am – 4:30pm
Fee: $720*

*a camp t-shirt is included in the fee
**no camp on July 4

Campers may take one session or both.

A TYPICAL DAY

8:30am Before camp care begins for those needing to be dropped off early. This is optional for an extra fee.

9:00am An additional array of classes are offered, as well as before camp care. These are optional for an extra fee.

10:00am The regular FPAC day begins.

Acting Techniques, Auditioning, Scene Study & Improvisation – All campers will participate in acting workshops with the goal of creating truthful, three dimensional characterizations. Those principals will be applied to scene work, monologues and songs from the contemporary repertoire. In addition, there will be voice work to develop diction and projection and audition techniques including the do’s and don’ts. Students in this workshop will join with the Professional Training Workshop students for this time period.

Noon Lunch. Students will have time to eat their bagged lunch and socialize as well as informally perform for each other or engage in sing-alongs!

12:30pm Rehearse for the Show – For 3 hours in the afternoon campers will rehearse for a musical production that they will present on the last Thursday afternoon of the session!

3:30pm Flex Time – Choose between a recreational activity or an additional performing arts class each day: swimming, field sports, free time, dance class, stage makeup, stage combat, Shakespeare, Clowning, Improvisation and many, many others.
OR
For those who audition and are cast - attend rehearsal for FPAC PRESENTS: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat or Romeo & Juliet.

4:30pm The regular FPAC day ends.
OR
Rehearsal Continues for those who have auditioned and are cast in FPAC PRESENTS.

An additional array of classes are offered. These are optional for an extra fee.

5:30pm Optional classes end.

6:00pm FPAC PRESENTS Rehearsal ends.
