Pat
Haynish holds a BS in Music Education from Truman
State University (Missouri) and an MS in Theatre and Music (Creative
Arts Education) from Carthage College (Wisconsin).
Pat has taught music for the Chagrin Falls Schools for the past
twenty years, teaching in every building in the district. Currently
she is the Music Department Chair and teaches at Gurney Elementary
School. She also founded and directs the Select Choir (Gr. 5-6)
at Chagrin Falls Intermediate School. Her theatre and directing
experience spans 30 years of working with high schools, churches
and community theatres in Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan
and Ohio. In the Cleveland area Pat has provided Musical Direction
for Berea Summer Theatre, Cassidy Theatre, Willoughby Fine Arts
and Solon High School where she has been involved for 18 years.
The Chagrin Falls High School productions of Into the Woods
(2001) and Fiddler on the Roof (2002) were directed
and produced by Mrs. Haynish. Pat and her former husband (Bob Keller)
founded the Solon Schools Summer Musical Theatre Workshop 13 years
ago. Six years ago she started a similar program for Chagrin Falls
Students. Currently Pat is finishing her fifth year as director
of the Children’s Choir at Garfield Church in Pepper Pike.
No stranger to summer camp, Mrs. Haynish worked for Girl Scouts
of Greater St. Louis as a camp counselor/director for six years
and participated in two international Girl Scout trips to Taiwan/Hong
Kong and Barbados.
Pat is extremely proud of past students who have gone on to professional
careers in the arts, including the director of Philip Morris Talent
Agency in Nashville, the technical director for Steppenwolf Theatre
in Chicago and performers in Wicked, Thoroughly Modern Millie,
and Mamma Mia! on Broadway.
