Fitness classes at Fairmount Center for the Arts make it easy to get fit – in both mind and body. Whether you wish to find radiant health and strength with the Ballet based Barre FX classes, strengthen and tone muscles with Body Sculpting, or experience the controlled and low impact movements of Yoga, Fairmount Center has a class for you.

2018 Spring Fitness Classes

Level I Yoga | REGISTER HERE
Age:                       Teen to Adult
Day/Time:            Saturday, 8:15-9:15am
Instructor:            Sarah Thrasher
Fee:                        $90
Level I Yoga is a great place to explore the benefits of Yoga.  It incorporates meditation, breathing exercises and explores a wide range of Yoga poses.  This is the perfect place for beginners through intermediate practitioners.

Level II Yoga | REGISTER HERE
Age:                       Teen to Adult
Day/Time:            Saturday, 9:15-10:15am
Instructor:            Sarah Thrasher
Fee:                        $90
Level II Yoga builds off of Level I Yoga class and is ideal for people with some experience.  This class utilizes the flow of Vinyasa to build heat and strength in the body. This class continues to build on the breath work introduced as we work towards using breath to guide the pace of our flow.  This class is ideal for intermediate practitioners.   

Instructor, Sarah Thrasher, completed her 200-hour training through Cleveland Yoga.  Her training focused on the Baptiste methodology.  She has been practicing yoga for the past 10 years and has been a long time athlete with experience in all areas of fitness.  She is the Elementary Library Media Specialist at West Geauga Schools and interested in bringing yoga to the community in which she lives.

Body Sculpting

Strength training is the fastest way to shape up! This balanced fitness workout combines strength, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance without high-impact or choreographed movements providing a results-oriented whole body workout. Working with a set of dumbbells and an exercise mat for this one-hour class, you’ll slim your legs, firm your arms, flatten and strengthen your abdominal, and tone your entire body. Also helps to prevent the development of osteoporosis while firing up your metabolism, helping you lose weight and inches. You will not build muscular size or bulk. Accommodates all fitness levels. Work at your own pace. Bring a set of 3-5 lb. dumbbells and an exercise mat to class.
 

Barre FX

This awesome class will produce results! Get ready to lift your derriere, trim your waist and hips, sculpt your arms, tone your legs, flatten and define your abs, while improving your flexibility, posture and balance. The Barre FX fat burning format integrates the use of the ballet barre, light weights and a mat providing a fun and challenging workout. Each class includes several highly effective sequences of toning and resistance exercises with an emphasis on the core, waist, arms, derriere and legs. Effective stretching techniques are utilized to create long, lean muscle without bulk. This is a challenging, no impact workout appropriate for all fitness levels. You don’t have to be a dancer to enjoy this great workout! Join anytime.
