Fairmount Center for the Arts is dedicated to the advancement of the arts in Ohio through excellence in training and performance for people of all ages and levels of mastery, from early youth to seasoned professional. Our programming seeks to challenge, enrich and nurture, providing self-confidence and understanding that encourages each student to thrive as a creative individual.
Today, Fairmount Center for the Arts includes classes in Art, Dance, Fitness, Music, and Theatre as well as performance opportunities through the Fairmount Dance Theatre (FDT), Fairmount Dance Theatre Company (FDTC), Fairmount Spanish Dancers, and Youth Theatre Lab (YTL).
The Fairmount Center's performance venues include the Mayfield Village Civic Center, St. Anselm's Church and the Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Center.
Founded in 1970 by Ron and Jan Kumin, Fairmount Center quickly established itself in a 9,000 square-foot facility on Fairmount Road in Russell Township which included three rehearsal studios, a visual arts and pottery classroom and a gallery for the fine arts.
Fairmount Center for the Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is generously funded by the Ohio Arts Council.
